Texas experienced the largest population growth between July 1, 2008 & July 1, 2009 according to
the U. S. Census Bureau. Texas gained 478,000 new residents, California 381,000, North Carolina
134,000, Georgia 131,000 & Florida 114,000 more residents. The U. S. population is 307 million, a
modest increase of 0.86%. California is the most populous state with 37,000,000, Texas 24.8 million, New York 19.5, Florida 18.5 & Illinois with 12.900,000. This all matters, as Congressional
Districts INCREASE or DECREASE in size depending on the population.
