1. MEDICAL with more & more specialities among the 3 medical facilities – East Texas Medical
Center, Trinity Mother Frances Hospital & University of Texas Health Health Center & 20%
of the local jobs are medical related.
2. EDUCATION – 17,000 students at Tyler Junior College, University of Texas at Tyler & Texas
College – while transient, they spend money.
3. RETAIL – as Tyler has more to offer in shopping, more folks shopping here. It is still easier
to shop & drive in Tyler, then bigger cities – even with the traffic on Broadway!!
