TX EXISTING HOMES SALES, PRICES DOWN IN OCTOBER ………..
Only part of that applies to the Tyler area. From October 2007 to October 2008 the medium price
of homes ROSE from $125,000 to $136,650 or about 9%. Unfortunately residential sales closed
DROPPED from 267 in 2007 to 212 in 2008 or DOWN 22.3%. Tyler’s home inventory at 10.7
months on the market is one of the highest in TX. Nationally the median sales price is $183,300 or
down 11.3% from ayear earlier & inventory was at 10.2 months (about like Tyler’s).
Dallas & Charlotte, NC posted as 2 of the best-performing markets in the country, but they are
still down 2.7 % in Dallas & 3.5%.
In spite of these figures, Texas is STILL A GOOD BUYER for folks.
